Bank transfer, InstaPay and QR Ph at online casinos in the Philippines: how they work and what to check
InstaPay vs PESONet as the BSP describes them, QR Ph vs InstaPay QR before you scan a deposit code, and which PAGCOR-listed brands mention bank transfer.
On this page (7 sections)
E-wallets get most of the attention, but bank transfers and QR codes are the other way money moves into and out of online casinos here. This page explains the payment rails the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) describes, what the PAGCOR-listed brands themselves say they accept, and what to check before you send anything. For GCash and Maya specifically, including the August 2025 order that removed in-app gambling links, see GCash and Maya online casinos. You must be 21+ to gamble.
InstaPay and PESONet: the two bank transfer rails
When a cashier offers "bank transfer" or "online banking" and you send from a different bank or e-wallet, the BSP lists two electronic options for that kind of account-to-account transfer, both set up under its National Retail Payment System. The BSP's InstaPay fact sheet compares them:
| Feature | InstaPay | PESONet |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Almost immediate | Same banking day (batch clearing, if sent before the cut-off) |
| Availability | 24/7, all year round | Banking days only |
| Maximum per transaction | PHP 50,000 | No limit |
| Fees | Sender may bear charges; receiver is not charged and gets the full amount | Same |
InstaPay works between accounts at participating BSP-supervised banks and non-bank e-money issuers; the BSP publishes the current list of InstaPay participants, and a list of institutions with zero or waived InstaPay and PESONet fees. The PESONet FAQ describes it as a batch transfer system suited to non-time-critical payments.
What this means at a casino cashier:
- A withdrawal over PHP 50,000 cannot go out as a single InstaPay transfer. The operator may split it or use PESONet, which can only arrive on a banking day. That alone can explain a slower payout; see why withdrawals are pending.
- "Instant bank withdrawal" claims depend on which rail the operator uses and on its own approval step, which comes first. The rail's speed is not the operator's speed.
- Fees: under both rails the receiver is not charged, so a fee taken from a withdrawal to your bank is the operator's or an intermediary's charge, not the rail's. Read the cashier terms.
QR Ph or InstaPay QR: check the logo before you scan
Many cashiers show a QR code for deposits. Under the rebranding described in the BSP's QR Ph rebranding FAQ (dated 29 July 2026):
- A code with the QR Ph logo in the middle is for paying a merchant (person-to-merchant).
- A code with the InstaPay QR logo is for a transfer to a personal account (person-to-person).
The BSP says the split was made partly because people used personal-transfer codes for merchant payments and paid transfer fees. For a casino deposit the logo is also a safety check: a code with the InstaPay QR logo, or one that shows a person's name instead of the operator's company on the confirmation screen, means your money goes to an individual. GCash has said illegal operators disguised where QR payments go ("QR masking"); see fake GCash pages and QR scams. Do not pay a code sent to you in chat by an "agent".
Which PAGCOR-listed brands mention bank transfer or QR
These come from the same 28 October 2026 check behind the GCash and Maya table: each brand's own home page (15 of 60 loaded for an automated check) and its iPhone app description where Apple's seller matches the company PAGCOR prints. That check searched for GCash and Maya; other methods were recorded when they appeared in the same text, so this list is what turned up, not a full survey.
| Brand (PAGCOR list entry) | Method named besides GCash/Maya | Where the brand says it |
|---|---|---|
| ArionPlay | "local bank transfer" | Home page and App Store |
| Casino Plus | UnionBank | App Store description |
| CrazywinGo | "bank transfers" | App Store description |
| NuSTAR Online | Bank transfer, QRPH, Palawan Pay | Home page and App Store |
| Solaire Online, through its FUNaloMAX app | DragonPay | App Store description |
Alphabetical; not a ranking and not a test. We have not deposited with any of them. We do not link out to NuSTAR Online (its page markup advertises e-sabong; see the red flag note). The 45 brands whose pages did not load for us are unknown, not "no bank transfer".
Cards and 7-Eleven or over-the-counter payments
We have no evidence either way. None of the brand wording we recorded mentions credit or debit cards or over-the-counter payment at convenience stores, but our check was not looking for them, so we do not list any brand as accepting or refusing them. If a cashier offers one of these, the same rule applies: the payee should be the operator or a named payment provider, never a private person. Paying cash at 7-Eleven or another counter normally loads your own GCash or Maya rather than a casino; the fees and the barcode rule are in 7-Eleven and over-the-counter cash-in.
Before you send money by bank or QR
- Check the exact address is on PAGCOR's lists with our licence checker, then confirm on PAGCOR's own pages.
- Register and finish KYC first (what to expect). Withdrawals usually go back to an account in your own name.
- Read the payee name on your bank or wallet's confirmation screen before you approve. It should match the operator's company or a payment provider the cashier names; a personal name is a stop sign.
- Keep the reference number and a screenshot of every transfer. You will need them for any complaint (evidence checklist).
- Watch the PHP 50,000 InstaPay ceiling and banking days when you plan a withdrawal.
- Never share an OTP or MPIN, and ignore "top-up agents" who offer to deposit for you.
If something goes wrong
- The transfer itself failed or went to the wrong account: the BSP says to contact your own bank's or e-wallet's customer service or financial consumer protection channel first, then escalate to the BSP through the BSP Online Buddy (BOB) chatbot if it is not resolved (QR Ph FAQ, InstaPay fact sheet).
- The casino received your money but did not credit or pay out: that is a dispute with the operator, then PAGCOR: how to file a PAGCOR complaint.
- You paid a scam site or agent: report to the CICC (Hotline 1326) and your bank at once: how to spot and report scam sites.
Rules that may change
The BSP circulated a draft in July 2025 for a separate online gambling transaction account with daily caps; we could not confirm it is in force (OGTA draft explained). If you want limits now, you can set your own: self-exclusion and help. Gambling can be addictive. Know when to stop.
What we could not confirm
- Whether any listed brand's bank transfer, QR or DragonPay option works today, its minimums, fees or speed. We did not open cashiers.
- Which rail (InstaPay or PESONet) any operator uses for payouts.
- Card and over-the-counter options, for the reason above.
Frequently asked questions
Can I deposit to an online casino by bank transfer in the Philippines?
Some PAGCOR-listed brands say so on their own pages: on 28 October 2026 ArionPlay, CrazywinGo and NuSTAR Online mentioned bank transfer, and Casino Plus named UnionBank. That is their marketing wording; we did not open a cashier. The only reliable check is the operator's cashier after you register and finish KYC.
What is the difference between InstaPay and PESONet?
Per the BSP's InstaPay fact sheet, InstaPay moves money almost immediately, 24/7, up to PHP 50,000 per transaction. PESONet has no transaction limit but clears in batches, with funds arriving the same banking day if sent before the cut-off. In both, the sender may pay a fee and the receiver gets the full amount.
What is the difference between QR Ph and InstaPay QR?
Since the BSP-backed rebranding (FAQ dated 29 July 2026), codes with the QR Ph logo are for paying merchants, and codes with the InstaPay QR logo are for transfers to personal accounts. A casino deposit code that shows the InstaPay QR logo or a person's name means you would be sending money to an individual.
Do PAGCOR-listed casinos accept credit cards or 7-Eleven payments?
We cannot say. Our check of the brands' own pages looked for GCash and Maya and recorded other methods only when they appeared alongside; it did not look for cards or over-the-counter payments, so 'not found' would not mean 'not offered'. Check the cashier. Cash paid at 7-Eleven normally loads your own GCash or Maya, not the casino.
Where do I complain about a failed bank or InstaPay transfer?
The BSP says to go first to your own bank's or e-wallet's customer service or consumer assistance channel, then escalate to the BSP through its Online Buddy (BOB) chatbot if the problem is not resolved. A dispute about the casino itself goes to the operator, then PAGCOR.
