Scatter games in the Philippines: how scatters and free games really work

Paliwanag sa Filipino: RTP at scatter →

"Scatter" means two things

Inside a slot, a scatter is a symbol that counts wherever it lands on the reels, not only on a payline. Landing a set number of them usually starts free games (free spins) or a bonus round. In everyday Filipino usage, "scatter" has also become a word for online slots in general, and "scatter links" passed around on Facebook, Telegram and Messenger are a known scam route: fake PAGCOR sites, hijacked landing pages and APK downloads (how to check a scatter link). This page is about the symbol, and about playing only on sites whose exact address is on PAGCOR's lists.

What JILI's own game pages say about scatters

JILI is the provider Filipino players search for most, so we read every slot page on its own site, jiligames.com (read 2026-10-28). Each page has a short feature line. Of the 171 slots we list, 67 mention free games or free spins, or a scatter, in that line; only 9 use the word "scatter" at all. A missing word does not mean a game has no scatter: the lines are short marketing text, and ours stop at about 150 characters. Among the 67, JILI's own volatility labels are 35 Low-Med, 18 Med, 13 High-Med, 1 High, and the median max win JILI states is 2,000x. JILI publishes no RTP on any of these pages and does not define its volatility labels.

The useful finding is that free games are not always started by scatters. Some of JILI's own lines name a scatter count (for example "4 or more Scatters can enter the free game"), some say scatters are collected, and at least 3 (3 Coin Wild Tiger, ROMA X 10000, Roma X Deluxe) describe free games that start from consecutive clears or from a pot instead. So before you play a "scatter game", open its paytable and read three things: what starts the feature, how many free games it gives, and whether anything is multiplied. That is where the game's rules live, not in a video or a chat group.

JILI games whose own line mentions scatters or free games

Alphabetical, not a ranking. Words, labels and caps exactly as JILI prints them; "Trigger" is our reading of JILI's line, not of the game. Games with a guide on this site are linked.

The maths: why a scatter is never "due"

Each spin is random and independent, so the chance of a feature is the same on spin 1 and on spin 300. That has a practical consequence for your budget. Take an invented game where free games start on average once every 150 spins:

• The chance of no free games in 100 spins is (149/150)¹⁰⁰, about 51%.
• In 300 spins it is still about 13%.
• At ₱10 a spin, 300 spins is ₱3,000 of bets. A run without the feature is normal, not a sign the next spin is "close".

The free games themselves are priced into the RTP: the game pays less on ordinary spins so that the feature can pay more. Chasing the feature does not change the house edge, it only spends more spins. The RTP and volatility basics, with peso examples, are in our online slots guide; why "patterns", "hacks" and "predictors" fail is in Paano manalo sa scatter? Totoo ba?

Buying the feature

Some games let you pay to start the free games straight away ("buy feature", "special buy" or "additional purchase"). JILI's own page for Jackpot Joker, for example, lists an "additional purchase" without printing its price. Whatever the price, it is several stakes spent at once, so it uses a budget much faster than normal spins. Read the price as a multiple of your stake in the game first, and whether the game shows a separate RTP for the purchase. A worked example is in our Jackpot Joker guide.

Free spins from a casino are a different thing

Free games triggered by scatters inside a slot are part of the game. "Free spins" or "free 100" offered by a casino are a promotion with turnover rules before you can withdraw, and PAGCOR capped rebates and cashback for online gaming in May 2026 (what changed). Work out what a promotion really asks with the turnover calculator, and treat any "free scatter" offer arriving by text or chat as a scam until proven otherwise (stop gambling texts).

Before you play a scatter game

1. Open the casino yourself, not from a link in chat, and paste its exact address into our licence checker.
2. Install apps only from the operator's own registered site or an official app store, never an APK sent to you (safe app download).
3. Read the paytable: feature trigger, number of free games, multipliers, and the RTP in the information panel.
4. Choose your stake from your budget: ₱1,000 is 100 spins at ₱10 before any wins.
5. Set a deposit limit and a stop time, and stop when the budget is gone.
